The IceHogs returned home last night for their 2nd to last regular season home game. The stands were packed with loud & enthusiastic fans. The Hogs were backstopped by Mac Carruth, as he lead the team to a Shutout Win over the Grand Rapids Griffins, 4-0. It’s really nice to see Big Mac finally starting to mature into his role with the team. This makes his 2nd Shutout of the season for him in the AHL.
The game itself seemed to prove the point that hockey games can still be exciting without any fights breaking out. If you watched closely, you could see the hard hits unfold before your eyes, as players lined up and checked their targets.
Rockford’s goals were scored by Nick Matteson, Ville Pokka, Tanner Kero and Mark McNeill. The three Stars of the Game were: Mac Carruth, Nick Matteson and Ville Pokka.
Multiple roster moved have happened in the last several weeks between the Chicago Blackhawks, the IceHogs and the Indy Fuel.
