This past Saturday night, the IceHogs hosted the Grand Rapids Griffins. However the evening didn’t end as fans had hoped, as the Hogs lost 5-2.
Early in the 2nd period, the IceHogs replaced starting goalie, Mac Carruth with Lars Johansson, after the Griffins scored their 4th goal of the game. Carruth appeared rattled and at one point quite angry, as he took his seat on the bench. He could be seen yelling at someone on the ice as the game resumed. Not quite sure who his attention was focused on. There did seem to be a breakdown on the IceHogs’ part, in not helping defend the crease, during a couple of those Griffins’ goals. Teamwork boys, teamwork.
The IceHogs hosted the Griffins again today (Monday) for a early afternoon tilt. Hogs Win 3-1. Icy road conditions prevented this writer from attending the game today. After today’s game, the IceHogs are on the road for the next 2 weeks.
