Two Chicago Fire rookies have been named to the roster for the inaugural Chipotle MLS Homegrown Game according to the team.
Midfielders Harry Shipp and Chris Ritter will join 18 other players as they take on the Portland Timbers U-23s at Providence Park. The game is part of festivities that will lead up to the 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game on Monday August 4th at 9 p.m. CT.
Shipp leads the team with six goals and four assists in 15 matches for the Fire. The former Notre Dame standout was also named the MLS Player of the Week after his hat trick against the New York Red Bulls.
Ritter is a Winnetka, Ill. native and had a stellar career at Northwestern University. He has started five straight matches after making his debut on June 1.
