The NFL announced early this morning that Bears returner Devin Hester has won the Special Teams Player of the Month award for the month of October. This is Hester’s third Player of the Month award in his career.His last came in September of 2007.
Hester had a 69 yard punt return against the Panthers on October 2nd, helping the Bears to a much needed victory. Hester would strike again with a 98 yard kickoff return to the house against the Vikings on Sunday Night Football on October 16th. Hester also had a touchdown reception in that game as well.
Hester now has 17 career return touchdowns, and is behind only Deion Sanders for most all-time. Sanders has 19 total return touchdowns.
