The Chicago Bulls made the move to fire head coach Fred Hoiberg last week, ending a near four-year run with the franchise as the replacement for Tom Thibodeau.
With Hoiberg at the helm, the Bulls struggled over these past four years and made the playoffs just once in that reign as they bowed out to the Boston Celtics in the first round. A change was needed at the top and now the hope is that the Bulls can begin the rebuild again with some talent acquired through the NBA Draft.
After firing Hoiberg, the Bulls named Jim Boylen the interim head coach as he has his official audition to win the job at the seasons end. But it won’t be easy for Boylen as the Bulls are one of the worst teams in the NBA’s Eastern Conference and are destined for another lottery selection in the 2019 NBA Draft.
Through Boylen’s first two games, the Bulls have looked alright dropping a road contest in Indianapolis before beating the Oklahoma City Thunder at home on Friday night.
The Bulls won’t be favorites in many remaining contests this season and will likely play the underdog role. They could be a Amazing Bet again if they can somehow find ways to play like they did in Friday’s win over Russell Westbrook and the Thunder.
It would be a great time to enter Amazing Bet and place some bets, as playing as the underdog, the Bulls will have the chance to prove their worth for those looking to wager on them.
Chicago does have some young talent on the roster with Zach LaVine, Lauri Markkanen and Wendell Carter Jr. and soon they will get back Kris Dunn and Bobby Portis from injury. When that does happen, the Bulls could rally off a win streak and maybe finding themselves coming together and gelling.
The remainder of the season will be a big test not only for Boylen and his future job status but the overall rebuild of this franchise. If the Bulls see progress with their young core players, it will be a positive sign moving forward. But if they see struggles, then fans should get used to seeing much more of the same in the future.
Boylen has a chance to flat out win the job and prove he can be the right guy for the Bulls.
