He’s only a rookie but Ian Happ has already made a big impact on this Chicago Cubs team.
That showed again on Sunday.
Happ helped power the Cubs past the Cincinnati Reds Sunday afternoon 6-2, avoiding a sweep as their long road trip came to an end. He got the scoring started early with a two-run home run in the second inning off of Tim Adleman.
Two innings later, Happ got to Adelman again with a solo home run in the fourth:
The 22-year-old played his college baseball in Cincinnati before the Cubs drafted him ninth overall in the 2015 MLB draft.
With his two home runs, Happ made some history. He became the first Cubs player with 2 home runs and a stolen base in a single game within his first 45 games since Ryne Sandberg.

Happ has 12 home runs, 45 RBI and is a OPS over .900 in his first 45 games of his career.
