The IceHogs played to a packed house of 5251 fans for their last home game of 2014 last night. It was Youth Jersey Night at the BMO Harris Bank Centre and excitement was in the air. The night started with a bang…two fights within the first three minutes of the game. Tilts by Labrie(RFD) & Finley(HAM) and Bass(RFD) & Nevins(HAM) with decisions for both fights going to the IceHogs’. Former IceHogs Captain, Jake Dowell, is playing for the Bulldogs this season. It was nice to see him again in Rockford.
Dennis Rasmussen was the only IceHog to put the biscuit in the basket. Mark McNeill was credited with the assist. Scott Darling was in net and received the 2nd Star of the Game. #1 & 3 Stars of the Game went to Bulldogs players Thomas & Condon respectively. Hogs lose 2-1 to the Bulldogs, but maintain their 1st place in the Midwest Division of the AHL.
Addendum: The IceHogs closed out 2014 tonight on the road in Grand Rapids…topping the Griffins 3-2 in a SO.
