It was Military Appreciation Night at the BMO Harris Bank Centre in Rockford, as they hosted the Milwaukee Admirals. The game itself was pretty evenly matched, with Milwaukee coming out on top in Over Time 3-2. It also was the first time former IceHogs skater, Bryan Bickell, played before fans again. Bickell was assigned to Rockford by the Chicago Blackhawks earlier this past week.
Rockford’s Mark Visentin in goal last night. He made quite a few spectacular saves during the game, including one diving glove save. IceHogs’ goals were scored by Brandon Mashinter and Ville Pokka. Bickell was credited with an assist on the Pokka goal.
Opening Ceremony was performed by a large group of young men & women…holding a giant American Flag while a local school sang the National Anthem. During the 1st Intermission, that group of approximately 40 men & women was sworn into the United States Air Force. Amazing that so many are willing to serve and give back to their Country.
Next home game is not until November 22 at 4:00pm. The Lord Stanley Cup will be in the house that night and fans can have their picture taken with it, as time allows.
