Last night, the Rockford IceHogs met up with the Cleveland Monsters for the last time in regular season play, beating them 4-1. Shhhh, the IceHogs are on a winning streak of 5 games in a row. No jinxing it please.
The Hogs came out strong in the first period, striking first with a goal by Evan Mosey. Followed by a goal by Jeremy Langlois approximately 90 seconds later. Cleveland answered back with a goal by Markus Hannikainen during the period.
The second frame saw goals for Rockford by Jeremy Langlois, his 2nd of the night and Spencer Abbott. Neither team scored in the 3rd period, making the final score IceHogs 4 – Monsters 1.
Stars of the Game for the night – #1 Jeremy Langlois, #2 Lars Johansson and #3 Evan Mosey. The IceHogs are currently in 7th place in the Central Division.
The IceHogs host the Charlotte Checkers tonight, puck drops at 7pm. It’s also Bobblehead Night, featuring a fan favorite player, P.C. Labrie. Labrie is currently out with an injury.
