Sunday afternoon, the IceHogs showed their fans that they can still dig deep and find the what it takes to get the win. They beat the Milwaukee Admirals, 2-1. The game appeared to be fairly evenly matched and it wasn’t until almost midway in the 3rd period before anyone scored. The IceHogs struck first with a goal by Sam Carrick at 8:34, followed by a goal by Jeremy Langlois at 19:40. It looked like the IceHogs’ netminder, Jeff Glass, was going to get a shut-out win, but the Admirals got by him with 9 seconds left in the game, making the final score 2-1.
It was Pucks & Paws Day at the BMO on Sunday, with local Animal Shelters on hand promoting animal rescue & pet adoption. During the 1st Intermission, fans were treated to an on-ice Dachshund Dog Race.
Shhhhhh! Don’t want to jinx it, but the IceHogs have won their last 3 games in a row. February is an extremely busy month for the Hogs, playing 14 games in a month that only has 28 days. Next home game is tomorrow, a mid-morning tilt against the Cleveland Monsters at 10:30am.
Roster moves…The Chicago Blackhawks have assigned Gustav Forsling(D), Vinnie Hinostroza(C), Tanner Kero(C) and Nick Schmaltz(LW) to the IceHogs. The IceHogs released Jonanthan Carlsson(D) from SPC and they sent on loan to the Indy Fuel (ECHL) Chris DeSousa(C) and Tyler Barnes(RW). Recalled to the IceHogs were Evan Mosey(RW) and Robin Press(D) from the Indy Fuel.
