“I went to a Fight and a Hockey Game broke out” on Friday night. The Rockford IceHogs hosted the Chicago Wolves, soundly dominating and beating them 3-1. A grand total of 102 minutes in Penalty time was handed out, with Chicago having 72 minutes and Rockford with 30. There was a total of 4 separate fights, numerous scrums, bone jarring checks into the glass and the occasional slashing & hooking. Four Wolves players all received Misconduct penalties of assorted charges.
It was also Ugly Christmas Sweater Night in the BMO Harris Bank Center, with the IceHogs wearing special festive holiday jerseys. Four of the jerseys were sold in a Silent Auction during the game. The remainder of the teams jerseys will then be placed up for auction on ebay starting on Monday. Proceeds to benefit the University of Illinois College of Medicine and Prostate Cancer Research.
The IceHogs hit the road for a five game stretch before returning home to play on December 11th.
