It was a evening of exciting, fast paced, back & forth hockey last night in Rockford. It was a match-up between the the AHL’s Central Division’s 1st & 2nd place teams. The game itself appeared more like a playoff game, rather than a regular season tilt, as it was more of a game of skill than brute force. There were no fights during the game and scrums were far & few between. Rockford goals were by Vinnie Hinostroza in the 1st period, Cameron Schilling in the 2nd and PC Labrie in the 3rd. Phil DiGiuseppe was the lone scorer for Charlotte.
IceHogs News Update: Mark McNeill(C) was recalled to the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday and was returned to Rockford yesterday. The AHL announced on Tuesday that IceHogs’ Captain, Jake Dowell(C), was added to the AHL ALL-Star Roster. Dowell joins teammates, Michael Leighton(G) and Ryan Hartman(RW) on the Central Division All-Stars Team.
Next home game for the IceHogs is tomorrow night, January 29th. Puck drops at 7pm.
