After beating Glenbard West in the 7A State Championship last fall Riley O’Toole and, his Wheaton Warrenville South teammates picked up where they left off. They beat West Suburban Silver’s Hinsdale Central 28-7 Friday Night.
O”Toole was just brilliant again as he passed for 197 yards, throwing two touchdowns against the Red Devils. The first half was a bit of a struggle as the O-Line seemed to be out of sink.
O’Toole added,”We went in at halftime and started making some adjustments, doing easier, short passes that first drive of the second half,” O’Toole said. “The short passes set up some plays later in the half.” One of the Touchdown’s though was a 40 yard bomb to receiver Travis Kern.
Kern however was outdone by his teammate who caught a 78 yard TD pass making it 28-7, Davis said, “Coach says that’s my role on the team, to be the fastest guy.” The Red Devils had no answer for the Top ranked Tigers as University of Illinois recruit Riley O’Toole was virtually perfect in the season opener.
Coach Mike DiMatteo was not happiest of people after the game saying, “I’d love to be mad and angry, but I’m not,” Hinsdale Central coach Mike DiMatteo said. “[WW South] is the best team in the state and [O’Toole’s] the best quarterback we’ll see, period.” Hinsdale season will not be any easier as they face 7A State runner up, Glenbard West later in the season.
You can watch O’Toole and the Tigers next week on ESPN. The Wheaton Warrenville South Tigers will take on defending 8A champions, Maine South. The Only loss the Tigers suffered was to Maine South.

WWS will win state once again this year. They have no competition and will probably go undefeated. Can’t wait to see Reilly at the U of I!
I cant believe Schaumberg of all teams broke Maine Souths 28 win record
I hope O’Toole leads U of I to a championship! I’m not picky, I’ll take a Big Ten Championship in the first year and a National Championship in the second…
