Barret was drafted with the 6th overall pick in the 2010 MLB Draft. He is a promising young pitcher from Texas A&M University. Loux was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Here are a few quotes from Loux about his expectations and what not.
PH: What are your overall thoughts of being drafted?
BL: Overall I am just really excited about the opportunity to play and to prove myself as a player.
PH: You were selected 6th by the Diamondbacks, is that about where you expected to be drafted or were you thinking earlier, later?
BL: Probably earlier than expected, just from other reports.
PH: Do you feel any pressure within your family and friends?
BL: . No not really, everyone is just really excited and supportive
PH: What would you say your best pitch is?
BL: Best pitch is definitely my fastball, and that is the pitch I work off most.
PH: What is your greatest strength as a baseball player?
BL: My work ethic. The times that I really improve the most are during the off season, when thats all I have to focus on
PH: Biggest weakness?
BL: My biggest weakness is inexperience with my breaking pitches. This is due to the fact that this was the first season where they were a true asset due to the elbow trouble last year. So right now it is a weakness but learning how to pitch with just a fastball change is a great base to work from and improve on.
PH: What do you feel you need to work on in the minors?
BL: Tightening up my breaking pitches to be successful at the next level.
PH: Have you had a chance to talk to any coaches or players in the majors or minors yet?
BL: No I have not been able to yet. I am very excited to be able to go work with Doug Drabek since it always nice to learn from someone that knows more about pitching than you do.
PH: When you get to the majors, which visiting stadium are you most looking forward to playing in?
BL: I am really going to take this experience one day at a time but if I had to pick one park I would probably say either Fenway for its historical value to the game, or also Safeco Field in Seattle for its architectural advancements to a modern day ballpark.
PH: What was your best experience during your college baseball career.
BL: My best experience without a doubt was our 16 game big XII win streak due to the number of great games and comeback wins during the streak.
Alright thank you Barret. I think it’s to say that we will see Loux in the Majors very soon.

it warms my heart to see young ball players who love the game as much as this fine young gentleman who has earned everything he has gotten. i believe he will only accel at the next level
The D Back got a real steal with this pick. Wouldn’t be surprised if he was in the Majors by 2012.
