We were able to get a hold of back-up running back Bud Golden for the Illinois Fighting Illini. Check out our conversation.
PH: What are your expectations for this year’s team?
Bud: My expectations for the team this year are high. We should be one of the top teams in the Big Ten this year. I think if we play together as one, every game with limited mistakes and don’t play selfish, it’s possible. We will win every game as long as we get better every week.
PH: What would be a considered a successful season?
Bud: A successful season, is a winning season.
Me: How has Nate Scheelhaase been looking at QB so far?
Bud: Nate has been looking pretty good at QB. He still has stuff he needs to work on but he has the potential to make a lot of big plays for our team.
PH: Are you expecting a lot of playing time?
Bud: I am just waiting to see how the summer goes..
PH: What has impressed you the most this off-season?
Bud: The defense and offense have gotten better on and off the field.
PH: Have players lost confidence in Coach Zook?
Bud: We still have confidence in Coach Zook and the new coaching stuff. A lot more confidence then we’ve had in the past.
PH: What are your thoughts on the RB core you guys have?
Bud: We have different types of backs which all can produce and help out the offense.
Thanks for your time Bud.
Be sure to be on the lookout next time as I host Lendell Buckner.
