He did it again folks.
Chicago Cubs ace Jake Arrieta has thrown a no-hitter against the Reds in Cincinnati. It’s the second no-hitter for Arrieta in the past 8 months after he accomplished the feat in Los Angeles last August.
Much like that one, the reigning NL Cy Young winner was just flat out dominant on Thursday night from the start. He also helped his cause with the bat as well by going 2-4, with a walk and a run in the game. He had 2 more hits than the entire Reds offense did.
He improves to 4-0 on the season for the Cubs and is 14-0 in his last 15 starts dating back to 2015.
To celebrate the no-hitter, Fanatics has released some cool merchandise:
There was also something eerily similar in the no-hitters. In both games every Cubs player, including Arrieta, recorded a hit except shortstop Addison Russell.
