It’s official. Jalen Brunson will play college basketball at Villanova next season.
Brunson made his decision at a press conference hosted at Stevenson high school.
Considered the top player in Illinois, Brunson is a big commit for Villanova. The team now has three recruits committed in the Class of 2015, including two four-star recruits to go along with the five-star Brunson.
Brunson was down to ‘Nova and Illinois when he made his decision today as he also had offers from Michigan State, UCONN and Temple. Brunson narrowed his choices down to two just a few days ago.

Illinois loses out on another top recruit and this one might hurt a lot more than others, seeing that Brunson was an in-state recruit. Illinois would have loved to have added Brunson to an already solid class that includes two other in-state players in D.J. Williams and Aaron Jordan.
The five-star recruit is also the number one ranked point guard according to ESPN. He’s heading into his senior year at Lincolnshire Stevenson as he looks to capture his first IHSA State Title. Stevenson has a case for being the one of the best teams in Illinois this season.
