The Chicago Bears could be one-step closer to getting quarterback Jay Cutler back into the lineup. Cutler practiced again on Thursday but was a limited participant for the second straight day.
Cutler spoke to the media after the game and says that he’s currently ‘day-to-day’ and “we’ll see” when asked if would be able to play according to Zach Zaidman.
The initial thought is that Cutler will likely test out his hamstring prior to Sunday’s game versus Oakland and if he’s good, he will play. The Bears missed Cutler last week after he hurt himself trying to make a tackle in the week two loss to Arizona.
As for for wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, he was also a limited participant in practice as he deals with a hamstring injury. Despite being limited, Jeffery practicing this week is a good sign that he could play Sunday.
Punter Pat O’Donnell joined the list of participants who were limited on Thursday as well. O’Donnell is dealing with a right knee injury that could keep him out on Sunday. Also limited were Ego Ferguson (knee), Alan Ball (groin), Will Sutton (elbow) and Jeremiah Ratliff (ankle).
Left tackle Jermon Bushrod missed practice again as he’s dealing a concussion, as he’s not expected to play Sunday.
