The Chicago Bulls announced yesterday that shooting guard Jimmy Butler will be week-to-week with turf toe. He did not travel with the Bulls on their 6-game Circus road trip. Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports says Butler will be out two-to-three weeks with turf toe.
Butler injured his toe in the win verse the Charlotte Bobcats. Butler hasn’t been great offensively, but was starting to make his shots. Butler’s offense won’t be missed, but his defense will be. Butler has been outstanding defensively this year and has helped the Bulls in a big way. Either Mike Dunleavy Jr. or Kirk Hinrich will take Butler’s spot in the starting five.
Butler will at least miss games at Nuggets, at Trailblazers, at Clippers, at Jazz, at Pistons, and at Cavilers. Then he will be re-evaluated when the Cubs come back home.
I think this is a good move to keep Butler out as it’s still early in the season and for him to get fully healthy.
