Despite a disappointing season for the Chicago Bulls, there have been some positives.
Guard Jimmy Butler has played well when healthy and recently launched a new shoe with Jordan Brand. Butler celebrated the release of the Ultra.Fly by surprising Oak Park Fenwick basketball players on April 1.
The team at Jordan Brand transformed a chemistry lab at Fenwick into a themed room revolving around two signature colorways of Butler’s Ultra.Fly shoe. The students then filed in as they learned more about the shoe from RSVP Gallery in Chicago.
“It’s crazy,” Butler said. “I’ve come a long way from Tomball, Texas, which everybody has heard me say before, let alone be on the Jordan Brand is big time for me.”
The shoe design is inspired by Michael Jordan’s on-court nickname of “Black Cat” and has a lightweight feature added to it. Equipped with Kurim and a mesh upper, the shoe has a lightweight feel for ultra comfort on your feet. It’s easily one of the most comfortable basketball shoes I’ve laced up on the court.
Then Butler came out and surprised both the boys and girls basketball teams:
Butler hung around and answered some questions from the students as one even asked about his technical foul for hanging on the rim against the Houston Rockets.
The Bulls star is just the latest to sign with the Jordan Brand family which includes Blake Griffin, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul and others. The shoe made its official release on April 2nd, for a retail price of $125 and is available in two colorways. For more information please visit Nike.
