The news just keeps getting worse for the struggling Chicago Bulls.
The team announced via a press release that shooting guard Jimmy Butler will miss 3-4 weeks with a left knee strain. Butler suffered the injury in Friday’s loss in Denver as he landed awkwardly on his leg. He had to be wheeled off the court before shooting his two free throws.
With the Bulls losing 12 of their last 17 games, they have now dropped to the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. They are coming off a road trip in which they went 2-5 as the frustrations are starting to mount.
Without a healthy Butler, this team could be in some serious trouble before a much-needed NBA All-Star break. The injury also means that Butler will not participate in Sunday’s All-Star Game in Toronto.
The Bulls will host the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday before taking the midseason break.
