Chicago Cubs fans will get their first look at the team’s off-season free agent prize Jon Lester on April 5 vs. the St. Louis Cardinals.
It was likely that Lester would being the Opening Day starter vs. the Cardinals and on Monday, manager Joe Maddon confirmed that Lester will start. Lester has started four Opening Day games in his career with a 1-1 record and a 3.70 ERA in those games.
Not exactly breaking news, but Joe Maddon has told Jon Lester he's the Opening Night starter on April 5 vs. #Cardinals at Wrigley Field.
