The Chicago Cubs opened up a 10-game home stand with a 9-5 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night.
Not only did the Cubs end a two game losing streak and get back to the .500 mark, but it was a milestone win for Manager Joe Maddon.
Maddon earned his 1000th career win, moving his record to 1000-870 over his 14-year coaching career.

His record includes two interim stints with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim back in 1996 and 1999. Maddon’s big break came when he was named the manager of the Tampa Bay Rays in 2006.
In just his third season with the Rays organization, Maddon took the team to the World Series where they fell short to the Philadelphia Phillies. He put together a 754-705 record during his 9 seasons with Tampa Bay.
Maddon was named the manager of the Cubs in 2015 and led them to their first playoff series win since 2003. A year later Maddon led the team to their first World Series title since 1908.
The Cubs continue their series with the Reds on Wednesday with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at Wrigley Field. Kyle Hendricks will oppose Scott Feldman.
