Chicago Cubs ace pitcher Jon Lester will miss his next scheduled start on Saturday as he deals with ‘dead arm’. Maddon alerted the media on Friday about the situation.
Even with the situation, Maddon doesn’t seem to think it will have any effect on Lester’s plan to start Opening Night on April 5. Maddon also said that it’s not a pain that Lester is feeling which is obviously good news for Cubs fans. Lester had a rough outing his last time out on Monday, giving up seven runs to the Padres. Previous to that start, Lester breezed through his two Spring Training outings.
If the injury becomes serious for Lester and the Cubs, it will damper what is the most anticipated season in years for the Northsiders. Lester is scheduled to pitch again on Thursday and will continue to throw in-between starts.
