Despite the official start of Summer a week ago, Jordan Brand is starting to roll out the Fall lineup by providing a preview of what to expect in the coming months. The brand has released the official lineup plus images for consumers and it looks like it’s going to be another successful season for Jumpman.
Let’s being with the retro models, which get the “Back to School” touch to them.
Back to School
Three colorways will be featured as part of the “Back to School” collection, paying homage to the High School alma maters Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony and Russell Westbrook.
The Air Jordan 10 gets dressed in a red, white, black and blue colorway for Westbrook and Leuzinger High School. This will be the first split-color design in the history of the Air Jordan 10. Inscripted in the left insole is “Class of 2006” with the “RW” logo on the right insole.
For Anthony, Jordan Brand is releasing a new colorway of the Air Jordan 13 in Black, University Red and University Gold to pay homage to Oak Hill Academy where Anthony played before attending Syracuse.
Finally, the Air Jordan 12 is decked out in a Olive Canvas, Sail, Black and Metallic Gold colorway for Chris Paul and West Forsyth High School. “Class of 2003” is the inscription in the left insole and the CP3 logo on the right insole.
Air Jordan XIII “He Got Game”
The Air Jordan 13 “He Got Game” will be one of the more anticipated releases for the Fall/Summer when it drops on August 25th. Following its debut in 1997, the white, black and true red colorway gets its nickname from an appearance in the classic movie “He Got Game” starring Denzel Washington and Ray Allen.
Air Jordan International Flight Collection
This new collection features three retro Air Jordan’s decorated in colorways to pay homage to Jordan’s trips around the globe for pickup games and to connect with international fans.
The Air Jordan III comes in a red, white and blue colorway to represent when Jordan played in an exhibition game back in 1988 in Los Angeles as he scored 54 points. This colorway matches the jersey that Jordan wore while wowing the LA crowd.
Two years later Jordan made an appearance in Barcelona for an exhibition game in which he scored 37 points. The Air Jordan V is dressed in a Racer Blue, Sail and Cone colorway with Barcelona street art inspiration on the inner lining and quarter panel.
Finally, the Air Jordan XII will release in a College Navy, University Red and Sail colorway that represents Tokyo, Japan. Jordan made a trip there back in 1996 for an exhibition game with other NBA superstars. At the time, the Air Jordan XII had just released and was a very popular model.
Air Jordan I
The Air Jordan I has transcended the game of basketball to become a style staple on and off the court. Starting in Fall 18, there will be a stronger emphasis on the AJI as a dual gender franchise with seasonal chapters.
These stories will celebrate the next generation of defiant ones and the iconic shoe’s place on the court, in the culture and for the community.
Russell Westbrook Collection
“Why Not?” is the mantra NBA superstar and Jordan Brand family member Russell Westbrook lives by. His impossible-to-ignore style and mindset inspire two new shoes and this new apparel capsule.
