Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu has joined some elite company.
Abreu became just the second player in history to hit 30 home runs and drive in 100 RBI’s in each of his first two seasons in the major leagues. The only other play? Future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols.
The historic achievement came in a 6-4 loss to the Kansas City Royals Thursday night, but it still gave fans something to celebrate during a down year. Abreu’s RBI single in the seventh inning put him in the record books:
We have a feeling Abreu will be in the record books a few more times during his White Sox career.
