If you haven’t been paying attention, the Chicago Cubs and White Sox made a blockbuster trade on Thursday revolving around Jose Quintana and Eloy Jimenez.
Quintana heads to the North Side while a package of prospects highlighted by Eloy Jimenez and Dylan Cease head back to the South Side.
The trade appears to be a win-win for both sides as the Cubs get a really good starter, while the White Sox add more prospects to their stocked farm system. Quintana adds some much needed help to the rotation for the Cubs and is locked down for a few more years.
While Jimenez and Cease are still a few years away, Cubs fans will see Quintana rather quickly.
The Cubs have set their rotation out of the All-Star Break and mark down Sunday July 13 on your calendars as the day Quintana will make his Cubs debut.

Quintana hasn’t faced the Baltimore Orioles this season, so he will get his first and only look at their lineup in the series finale. Chicago begins the three-game set on Friday with Mike Montgomery getting the nod.
The lefty Quintana is 4-8 on the season with a 4.49 ERA. But in his last seven starts he’s posted a 2.70 ERA, 45/12 K/BB ratio in 40 innings pitched.
In other rotation news, the Cubs announced that Kyle Hendricks is one step closer to returning.
Hendricks will make another rehab start in Double-A Tennessee on Monday night.
