The Chicago Bulls started the year off on the wrong foot, being blown out by the worst team in the Eastern Conference.
The Bulls watched their two-game winning streak vanish Wednesday night when they were outplayed by the Washington Wizards 125-107 in front of 16,298 fans at Capital One Arena. The Bulls fell to 15-19 after the loss, which puts them in tenth place in the Eastern Conference.
Shooting guard Josh Giddy was one of the Bulls’ worst contributors on Wednesday night. The 22-year-old went 3-of-8 from the field for six points. He committed five turnovers. Overall, he was a -17 on the court.
Josh Giddey: Team had the ‘wrong mindset’
Per K.C. Johnson with CHSN, Giddey said after the game that the team had the “wrong mindset” about playing one of the worst teams in the NBA.
“We came in too cool,” Giddey said. “It’s the NBA. Anyone can beat anyone on any given night. These guys haven’t had a lot of wins and we probably came in with the wrong mindset that we can roll out of bed and walk away with a win.”

The Chicago Bulls need to take every game seriously
As a sub-.500 team, the Bulls shouldn’t be taking any team lightly this season if they want to make the playoffs. They need to win these kinds of games if they want a shot at the postseason.
Giddey’s quote is concerning about the Bulls’ locker room. They have confidence that hasn’t been earned yet.
Chicago needs to use the loss as motivation to beat the New York Knicks on Saturday night, the conference’s third-best team.
