Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberfls revealed disappointing updates on the Week 8 status of two starters, including Justin Fields. The Bears were without Fields, battling a right thumb injury, in their Week 7 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Backup quarterback Tyson Bagent played well in the Bears’ lopsided victory over the Raiders. However, Bagent had an easy test, as the Raiders’ incompetent offense could not keep the game tight. Bears fans will likely see Bagent get another opportunity to show what he can do in Week 8.
The Chicago Bears have disappointing injury updates
According to Courtney Cronin with ESPN, head coach Matt Eberflus said Fields is doubtful to play in Week 8 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Nate Davis has been ruled out against the Chargers. Roschon Johnson has yet to clear the concussion protocol.
Matt Eberflus said there "no change" for Justin Fields, who is again being classified as "doubtful" for the Chargers game.
"Bagent will be our starter until the time he's cleared."Other injury updates:

The Chargers could present Bagent with an opportunity to see what he can do as a passer. The Bears stuck with the running game, and Bagent mostly hit check-downs in the win Sunday. However, the Chargers offense is explosive enough to put up enough points that there will be pressure on Bagent to push the ball down the field passing.
