Kevin Youkilis is returning to Chicago.
The Cubs announced on Wednesday that Youkilis will join the team as a special assistant to Theo Epstein. The 35-year-old Youkilis spent last year playing in Japan and played with the Boston Red Sox from 2004-12. Youkilis also spent time with the Chicago White Sox in 2012.
The Cubs continue to expand the front office with former players, adding Youkilis to the list that also includes former Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster.
