UPDATE: Chicago Cubs announce that X-rays were negative on Kris Bryant and he suffered a sprained left pinky. He is considered “day-to-day”.
The Chicago Cubs are looking to extend their winning streak to six games and sweep the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday afternoon.
But if they do, they’ll have to do it without one of their biggest stars.
Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant left the game in the top of the first inning after injuring his hand on a slide into third base. Check out the play below:

Bryant appeared to be favoring his ring finger as it bent while sliding into third base. It’s too early to speculate how bad it can be, but judging by Bryant’s reaction and him leaving the game, it doesn’t look good.
Check back for more on Bryant’s injury as it becomes available.
