Through three games, Chicago Bulls fans have got a look at what one piece of the Jimmy Butler trade can do early on in Lauri Markkanen.
Zach LaVine will be out for a few more months as he continues to rehab from an ACL injury on his left knee. Then there is Kris Dunn.
The point guard hasn’t played yet this season due to an finger injury he suffered a few weeks ago. Dunn was the third player in the Butler deal that happened on draft day. But the Bulls may soon see what Dunn has.
According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, head coach Fred Hoiberg says Dunn could be set for a return this week. Here’s what Dunn told Johnson:
“I don’t want to give anybody a direct answer right now,” Dunn said when asked if he has a target date for his return. “Hopefully one day I wake up and I don’t feel nothing and I go out there and play.”
Jerian Grant has earned two starts at point guard this season and is averaging 10 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists in those games. Chicago is off to an 0-2 start in a rebuilding year but getting some production from Markkanen, Dunn and LaVine would show some promise for the future.
