The NFL has announced that Chicago Bears cornerback Kyle Fuller has won the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month award for the month of September.
The rookie out of Virginia Tech had a spectacular month in September, recording three interceptions and two forced fumbles. Fuller takes over as a starting cornerback after veteran Charles Tillman was lost for the season. He also has 22 tackles on the season. Fuller was drafted by the Bears with the 14th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
The NFL also announced that Carolina Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month. Fuller and Benjamin go head-to-head on Sunday in Carolina.
