4. Byron Murphy II
Murphy could be the 3-tech Matt Eberflus has wanted since he was hired in the 2022 offseason. The six-foot-one, 308-pound defensive tackle had a huge 2023 season at Texas. He recorded five sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss. Per Pro Football Focus, Murphy had a 27.3% pass-rush win rate and an 80% pass-rush grade in the red zone. Here’s why that can be important:
Never ever ever leave Chris Jones unblocked
ESPECIALLY with the Super Bowl on the line and Brandon Aiyuk wide fuckin open in the end zone
If Purdy is protected… he finds aiyuk and the Niners hoist the Lombardi
Pitiful

Former NFL scout Daniel Jeremiah said last week he sees Murphy moving up into the top ten. In the previous week, Murphy’s name had been increasingly linked to the Bears.
