Logan Pause, long-term midfielder and captain of the Chicago Fire, announced Friday his retirement at the end of the 2014 season.
Pause has long been a fan favorite, and the former United States national team member will almost certainly be considered for an induction into the Ring of Fire, the Fire’s version of a Hall of Fame.
Pause’s calling was always defense, but on the rare occasion that he did score – he had three goals in 281 games with the Fire since his debut in 2003 – he made it in highlight-reel fashion.
