Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball went out of his way to support and congratulate his teammate Josh Giddey not only for carrying the Bulls on their recent victory against the Bucks but also for recording his second triple-double for this season.
Lonzo Ball took to his Instagram account to share the post celebrating Josh Giddey’s latest triple-double. In the caption, he said: “Yessirski #BigGuard,” tagging Giddey’s account along the way.
During the Bulls-Bucks game, Josh Giddey logged 23 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists. He also made the crowd go wild with his last-minute clutch plays. A little more than a minute left into the game, Giddey made a critical three-point shot that gave the Bulls a one-point lead, which ultimately became the boost the team needed to nab the lead and end the game with 116-111.
The game was also Giddey’s comeback performance, as she came from a week-long rest due to an ankle injury. On the other hand, Lonzo Ball did 9 points and played for 19 minutes and 19 seconds.
Lonzo Ball on “Controlling” The Narrative: “The Best Option For Me”
In an era where almost every athlete, active and retired, has a podcast, Lonzo Ball touched on the importance of having a platform such as a YouTube channel that he can speak to in order to “control;” his narrative. Ball has appeared in multiple other sports-related podcasts, particularly Gi’ls Arena, hosted by former NBA player Gilbert Arenas.
In one episode of Gil’s Arena, Lonzo expressed how important it is for him to express his voice in this manner, thus setting the record straight for every issue or topic surrounding him.
“I think that was definitely another pillar,” he said, talking about the chance of speaking to a podcast program. “That was one of the reasons why we started the pod I knew that coming back a lot of people are going to have a lot of stuff to say. You know a lot of times, [the] stuff you see on the internet [is] just not true. So in order to avoid all that, I feel like me just stepping out in front of everything and being able to answer any questions I want to answer by myself. That was the best option for me.”
Lonzo Ball has been playing for the Chicago Bulls since the 2021-2022 season. He missed the entire 2022-2023 season due to injury, which makes the 2024-2025 season his third active season with the team.
