As the battle for who to lead on the table in the 2018/19 Premier League campaign, with Manchester City leading the table on a goal difference. We had a quick call with Bryan O’Shea, editor for FootballPredictions.com to ask his opinion about the recall.
The defending champions seems to be dealing with some serious injuries, with the first Kevin De Bruyne set to be out for three months and now the second goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, who seems to be crucial as the Citizens have officially recalled young Swiss shot stopper Aro Muric from his loan spell at NEC Breda.
Bravo was reported to have fractured his left Achilles tendon while training this week and could be set to out for some lengthy months, according to Sky Sports.
For however long, the Chilean will be out for, Man City has Swiss goalkeeper Muric to cover and acts as backup for first choice goalkeeper Ederson Moraes after the sale of Joe hart and Angus Gunn to Premier league rivals this summer transfer window.
The 19-year-old goalkeeper, was recently loaned out to the Dutch side Breda three weeks ago for a deal understood to be a season-long loan deal, but injury woes to Bravo proved the deal futile with only Daniel Grimshaw left as the only keeper to cover for Ederson. Muric will have to be full aware he won’t make a lot of minutes. Lots of experts in premier league predictions can’t see Muric play an important role for the Citizens this year.
This would be a problem for the Dutch side Breda, who formerly acquired the Swiss goalkeeper to be their first choice goalkeeper for the rest of the season.
The Switzerland International, who joined Manchester City U18s in 2015 from Zurich, has not made a single senior team appearances for the Citizens.
