Start planning your road trips to Iowa if you already haven’t done so. This is must-see baseball in Des Moines with the announcement of Manny Rameriz joining the team on Thursday, according to ESPN. Rameriz will join recently called up third baseman Kris Bryant and top prospect Javier Baez.
Ramirez is scheduled to join the team Thursday as a player/coach but there is no chance he joins the major league club according to Theo Epstein. The 42-year-old Ramirez has been at the Cubs spring training facility in Arizona.
The Cubs hope the young talent in the farm system can learn from Manny, while also providing something playing-wise as well in Iowa.
It’s going to be one crazy summer in Iowa.
