Major League Baseball finally has a new collective bargaining agreement. At 5 pm central, the league is expected to resume free agency and it’s expected to be a very interesting next week as teams get set to begin Spring Training.
As we await for the big moves, the Chicago Cubs were able to land Marcus Stroman on a three-year deal before the lockout and now he’s hoping to recruit another talented player to the roster.
Stroman wasted no time trying to recruit prized free-agent shortstop Carlos Correa and he made it known:

With free agency ready to start without much notice, it will be interesting to see how free agency plays out on Thursday night when it opens. Teams technically have not been allowed to communicate with players since the lockout was in place. It has yet to be seen if any verbal agreements from before the lockout will carry over. When Stroman signed with the Cubs in December, he immediately began trying to recruit Correa.

Carlos Correa has built an impressive resume since coming into the league in 2015. His career with Houston Astros saw Correa collect a gold glove, a platinum glove, 2 all-star appearances, rookie of the year, and of course a World Series title in 2017. Correa is one of the most sought-after players in this year’s free agency market and will draw a massive amount of interest around the league.
