Glenbard West faced maybe its toughest task against Lincoln Way East this afternoon at Duchon field. Mostly known for their running attack led by Nick Burrello and Kendall Johnson, Daver Glawe and Mark Hiben proved today that they are just as much of a passing team as they are a rushing team.
Hiben finished the day with 12 catches for 319 yards and 4 touchdowns against the Griffins today. Hiben and Justice Odom connected for a 84 yard touchdown, on the next series it was Glawe to Hiben for a 41 yard touchdown and a 19 yard touchdown pass would help seal the game giving the Hitters a 42-28 lead. The old record was 317 which was done in 1971.
The Hilltoppers have now won their first 2 playoff games and will face either Wheaton Warrenville South or Wheaton North in the 3rd round next week. The game between the Tigers of Wheaton South and the Falcons of Wheaton North will take place at Red Grange Field, home of Wheaton Warrenville South, tonight at 7pm.
