One of the bright spots in Chicago’s loss to Green Bay on Sunday came from Matt Forte. The running back, who is playing in a contract year, carried the Bears offense as he scored a touchdown in the 23-31 loss.
Now Forte is close to being rewarded for his play.

Forte was listed as one of three nominees for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week award. The 29-year-old ran for 141 yards on 24 carries and a touchdown. Forte’s opponents are Jets running back Chris Ivory (91 rushing yards, 2 touchdowns) and 49ers back Carlos Hyde (168 yards and two touchdowns).
