The White Sox have designated Lastings Milledge for assignment to make room for RHP Jeff Gray. Milledge, 26, will need to clear waivers before he can be assigned to a Minor League team. Since breaking camp with the Sox he has appeared in 2 games and has gone ¼ and has looked very rough in the Outfield.
The White Sox needed relief help as 2 extra inning games in Kansas City have decimated the ‘pen. Gray, 28, has appeared in 36 games in 3 seasons, 2 with the A’s and 1 with the Cubs. He was signed by the Sox in November 2010. In Spring Train 2011 Gray went 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA, surrendering 12 hits in 9.1 innings pitched while striking out 4.
