The day is finally here.
The Chicago Cubs and San Francisco Giants will begin the NLDS series at Wrigley Field on Friday night for Game 1. Jon Lester will take on Johnny Cueto in Friday night’s game, but we didn’t officially know the roster until now.
The Cubs released their complete NLDS roster which features 11 pitchers and 14 position players:
The ones that stand out the most is rookie Albert Almora Jr. making it as Maddon sees the value in the outfielders glove. Chris Coghlan also made the roster, giving Maddon a left-handed bat off of the bench.
Those two making it means that Matt Szczur is left off the roster.
On the pitching side, Mike Montgomery gets the nod as he is a lefty in the bullpen for Maddon. The Cubs will enter the series with three lefty relievers including closer Aroldis Chapman.
First pitch is set for 8:15 p.m. at Wrigley Field.
