Nike Chicago has really started to make a difference in the Chicago community over the past few years. Not only is the store active in the community by hosting various events but they’ve also put on special basketball camps for the youth in Chicago.
The latest event came this past week when Nike hosted the Rise Basketball camp at Kenwood High School as hundreds of local high school players participated. The event came during the same time Nike hosted the Nike Tournament of Champions at the McCormick Center in Chicago.
Both events lasted throughout the week with thousands of basketball players showcased their skills for not only the public but for NBA Finals MVP and Champion Kevin Durant of the Golden State Warriors.
Durant made a special appearance at both the McCormick Center to take in some games and Kenwood High School to talk to the campers. At Kenwood, Durant answered some questions about life and the game of basketball, providing valuable insight for the youth.
The NBA star even posted a video to his official YouTube account and congratulated the All Iowa Attack for winning the Nike EYBL National event.
