The Chicago Bulls aren’t going to make a big splash by signing one of the top free agents available in Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson or Kyrie Irving. But instead they could make some depth moves with the $24M they have in cap space.
One of those moves could be for a backup guard who is from Chicago, in Patrick Beverly.
The veteran has expressed interest in a return to Chicago through his Twitter account over the past few weeks and now a report out calls the Bulls a suitor for him. ESPN’s Tim MacMahon tweeted out that Beverley is seeking a three-year deal that lands him in the $40M+ range and the Bulls are one of the teams that could be interested:
Just last week the Bulls took point guard Coby White with the seventh overall pick but Kris Dunn appears to be on his way out. Bringing in a veteran like Beverley would add a good mix to a young team.
Free agency opens up Sunday night and we could find out Beverley’s destination soon.
