In the early stages of the first round it’s pretty clear Chicago is the better team.
They have outscored the Bucks by 21 points in the first two games, leading the series 2-0. In all fairness, the scoring margin could be much worse for the Bucks if not for countless turnovers committed by Chicago. In the first two games the Bulls have turned the ball over 32 times. Those 32 turnovers were converted into 40 points for Milwaukee. Taking care of the basketball is priority no. 1 in the playoffs and too many mistakes can send a team home.
Luckily for the Bulls they have a much less talented opponent in the Milwaukee Bucks. Everyone is relatively healthy and the more games they have to play, the more chances there are for them to get hurt. Chicago should use these next two games to get Derrick Rose into a rhythm and ready to turn it up in the 2nd round. Rose had 23 points on 9 for 16 shooting in game 1, showing that he can still perform at a high level.
There is no reason why they should let the series drag out and fatigue the team and specifically Rose. The starting lineup does not have many games together but they have proven that when they are together they are a force to be reckoned with. In the limited action they have seen together they are 19-4. The defense is rounding into their old form, and I think the team will be ready to take on Cleveland after knocking out Milwaukee. Putting the Bucks away early could give them an extra few days of rest that could really make the difference in the 2nd round.
We all know LeBron James and the Cavs will be waiting for them so it is important that everyone is as healthy as possible to take on the greatest player in the world looking for another title.
