The Chicago Bulls are looking to go up 3-0 in their NBA Eastern Conference first round series against the No. 1 seed Boston Celtics on Friday night.
But if they do that, it will be without point guard Rajon Rondo.
Rondo has been ruled out indefinitely after suffering a fracture in his right thumb. The veteran has played well for the Bulls through two games both on the court as his experience is showing.
Here’s what the official release stated:
Rajon Rondo injured his right hand in Game 2 at Boston on Tuesday night. Rondo underwent a subsequent exam and x-rays that confirmed a thumb fracture. Surgery is not required for this injury, and he is out indefinitely.
Rondo is averaging 11.5 points and 8.5 assists in the two games he’s played during this season. With his absence Jerian Grant and Michael Carter-Williams are expected to see more playing time at point guard.
