The Chicago Bears might be without receiver Marquess Wilson for ‘at least’ until midseason. The USA Today is reporting the news just a few weeks after Wilson broke his collarbone in practice.
A timeline for the injury is usually 12-14 weeks which means a target date could be week 10. The Bears are on a bye in week 9.
The news means Wilson will likely begin the year on injured reserve/designated to return. The signing of veteran receiver Santonio Holmes makes a lot more sense now with Wilson being out for an extended amount of time.
Wilson was projected to be the Bears number three receiver going into the season as he showed some upside in limited playing time last season. The news also opens up the door for a big role as the teams number three receiver to be productive. Holmes, Josh Morgan are among the two favorites to win the job.
