Teams can officially sign NFL free agents this afternoon as the league moves forward in the next step of the offseason.
Barring something outrageous, the Chicago Bears will sign former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Mike Glennon. The deal is expected to be for three years and at $44 million.
While Chicago landed a quarterback, it missed out on one of the top cornerback targets in this year’s free agent class.
Former Buffalo Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore will sign a five-year deal with the New England Patriots.

The Bears were in the running for Gilmore as they desperately need help in the secondary.
They made their pitch but in the end, Gilmore chose the defending champions. Just minutes after it was revealed he would sign with New England, ESPN’s Josina Anderson had an interesting tweet regarding the Bears.

Yikes.
That’s not good. For a team that needs a complete overhaul in the secondary, you have to wonder what happened.
How can the Bears not be serious with an offer for Gilmore? Is he bluffing? Do they have plans for A.J. Bouye?
