While the Chicago Bears have multiple NFL Championships, the franchise only has one Super Bowl win. That win came in 1986 when the Bears destroyed the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XX. The Bears were dominant on both sides of the ball, routing the Patriots 46-10.
The game was one of the most watched television events in history. That’s where we get our #48.
According to the Nielsen ratings system, the game scored a 48.3 rating which was good for seventh all-time. As of 2012, that Super Bowl was third on the list of highest-rated Super Bowl’s. Now the highest-rated was Super Bowl XLIX between the Patriots and Seahawks which shattered numbers.
